TheisI purchased this item on 1/25/10 and received it on 2/10/10 after receiving notification of shipment on 2/8/10. It came with hardly any plastic or cardboard on it - only heavy duty tape wrapping the receiver mount to protect it and secure the instructions and hardware, and two small pieces of cardboard wrapping each side of the tube frame. I consider this very effective and conscientious packaging.The instructions were easy to follow and the work was minimal, taking about one hour total for a novice like me to install on a 2010 Subaru Forester (some frame hole modification is necessary to allow fitment of the heavier-duty Class III receiver).The product itself is high-quality with solid,consistent welds, heavy gauge (1/4") steel, and a robust, high-gloss finish.
