The real problem is that the directions basically assume that your truck is new and the underside of your truck has never seen mud or dirt! Yea Right! This is designed to screw into bolts welded inside the frame. These bolts are exposed to everything the underside of the truck sees. Sure, I should have thought first before trying to put the screws in that they need cleaned out. I should have known that the bolts weren't supposed to be that tight. But I'm not sure I should have known that the welds that are holding them in place will bust if you torque them enough (didn't take a whole lot). A quick internet search shows I'm not the only one that has had this problem. In short if you buy this, you should also buy a 3/4" pipe brush for cleaning copper pipe fittings on the inside.
